Pricing
We don't earn until you sell.
Pay as you go is credit-based. You top up, and a small amount comes off that credit each time you make a sale. Nothing sells, nothing is charged. Or take a flat monthly subscription if you would rather budget it. Both carry the whole platform, and both are quoted per business.
How it works
Pick the one that suits your cashflow
The plans differ in how you pay, not in what you get. Nothing on this page is held back for a higher tier.
Pay as you go
We don't earn until you do.
Credit-based, with no subscription to carry. You top up, and a small amount comes off that credit each time you make a sale. No sale, no charge, which means a quiet month costs you almost nothing and a month with nothing sold costs you nothing at all.
Usually chosen by
- A business opening its first account
- Seasonal trade, where the months are uneven
- Anyone who wants to be certain the cost can never outrun the takings
Every feature below is included. Nothing is held back for a higher tier.
Monthly subscription
A flat monthly cost, whatever the month does.
A single monthly fee instead of a small amount per sale. Past a certain volume it works out lower, and it makes the cost a line you can budget rather than one that moves with takings.
Usually chosen by
- Steady volume through the counter, the chat or the floor
- Several outlets or a long catalog on one account
- Businesses that would rather forecast the cost than watch it
Same platform, same features. The plan changes how you pay, not what you get.
Not sure which fits? Tell us about the business and we will say plainly which of the two costs you less, and move you between them later if that changes.
What you get
The whole platform, on either plan
Not a starter tier and an upgrade path. Every business on Tab gets all of this.
Inventory
One stock record behind every way you sell.
- Unlimited items in one catalog
- Variants: size, colour and style each with their own count, cost and price
- Spreadsheet import, so a long catalog goes in once rather than line by line
- Reorder levels set per item, because lines turn over at different rates
- Low-stock alerts while there is still time to do something
- Cost on every line, which is what turns takings into margin
- Sold-out items come off sale across every channel at the same moment
- Several branches, each with its own stock, team and takings, from one login
Sell everywhere
Four front doors, one catalog behind them.
- A WhatsApp ordering link generated for your business when onboarding completes
- Your own storefront, a shareable web page for a bio, a status or a flyer
- QR ordering for tables, rooms, loungers and shelf edges
- Counter sales from any device you already own
- Several outlets on one account, each with its own catalog, prices and service hours
- Photographs, notes and modifiers on items
Orders & fulfilment
Every channel in one queue.
- One order queue however the order arrived
- Automatic routing by station: food to the kitchen, drinks to the bar
- Tickets tagged with the table, room or outlet they came from
- Staff can place orders from their own phones
- Order status through to collection, delivery or the pass
- Order history attached to the customer who placed it
Get paid
Two ways to collect, and a day that closes itself.
- Collect in Tab by card (NGN or USD), or bank transfer, with no terminal on your side
- Or collect on the POS machine you already own and record the payment in Tab
- Payment attached to the order it paid for, so nothing is matched by hand
- An end-of-day close: takings by channel and outlet, set against what sold
- Cash or a card taken on your own terminal, recorded against the order
- Pay in full, or split across a group where that is wanted
- Settlement to your bank as one figure by T+1, matching the figure you closed on
- Payment links that work inside a WhatsApp thread
See what's working
The numbers arrive; you don't go looking for them.
- A daily report in the morning, while the day can still be changed
- Margin per line, not just turnover
- Dead stock named rather than counted as an asset
- Takings by channel, by outlet and by day
- Best and worst performers, side by side
- Exports for your accountant
Setup and support
The parts that are not features but decide whether it works.
- Help getting your catalog in, including a long one from a spreadsheet
- Team logins with roles, so staff can sell without seeing your costs
- Runs on any device with a browser: phone, tablet, laptop or a POS terminal you already own
- No hardware to buy and nothing to install, on your side or your customer's
- Updates included; there is no version to upgrade to
- Support from a team in Lagos, in your time zone
There is nothing else to buy
No hardware, no card machine and no separate subscription per feature. Tab is a web app, so whatever the business already owns becomes the till: a phone, a tablet, the laptop at the back, or a POS terminal you bought years ago that opens a browser. Your customers install nothing either.
Pricing questions
What people ask before they call
- Why isn't the price on the page?
- Because a boutique with eighty lines and a hotel with four outlets are not the same quote, and publishing one number would be wrong for both. Tell us about the business and we will come back with a figure for it.
- What is the difference between the two plans?
- How you pay, not what you get. Pay as you go runs on credit you top up, with a small amount coming off it per sale and no monthly fee. The subscription is a flat monthly cost. Every feature on this page is in both.
- How does the credit work?
- You top up your account, and each sale takes a small amount off the balance. Nothing is taken when nothing sells, so the cost tracks the business rather than the calendar. Top up again whenever you like.
- Can I start on one and move to the other?
- Yes. Most businesses start on pay as you go and move to a subscription once the volume makes it the cheaper of the two. Tell us and we will move you.
- Is there anything else to buy?
- No hardware, no terminal and no separate subscription per feature. Tab is a web app, so whatever you already own becomes the till, including a POS machine you have.
- Do I pay per user or per outlet?
- Team logins are included, and several outlets sit on one account. If your property or your team is unusually large, that is part of the conversation with sales rather than a surcharge on the page.
- What happens in a month with no sales?
- Nothing comes off your credit, so the month costs you nothing. We only earn when you sell, which is the whole reason the plan exists.
