Payments & settlement

Use the built-in gateway, or the POS machine you already have.

Collect in Tab and take card or bank transfer with no terminal on your side. Or take the payment on the POS machine you already own and record it. Either way it attaches to the order and settles to your bank by T+1.

The end of the night

Taking the money is easy. Knowing what it was for is not.

  • What the payment was for

    Today
A transfer with no line items
    With Tab
Payment attached to the order it paid for

Whichever channel the order came from and however the money arrived, the two are joined.

  • Reconciling

    Today
Transfers, card slips and cash, matched by hand
    With Tab
One settlement to your bank by T+1

Gateway collections across every channel land as a single figure rather than three streams that only roughly agree.

  • The wait to pay

    Today
Catching someone's eye to settle up
    With Tab
They pay from their own phone when they're ready

In full, usually. Split across a group if that is what they want.

  • Hardware

    Today
A terminal somebody is paying rent on
    With Tab
Your choice: gateway, or the machine you own

No terminal is required. An existing one is not wasted either.

Path one

Collect in Tab, with no terminal on your side

The integrated gateway takes card (NGN or USD) and bank transfer. The customer pays from their own phone, so there is no machine to buy, rent or carry.

Collections across every channel settle to your bank as one figure by T+1. A guest can pay the bill in full, which is what most do, or a group can split it and each pay their own share while Tab tracks who has and who has not.

Pay in full

Card or bank transfer

Or split it 4 ways at ₦6,150 each. The guests choose, and it still settles as one figure by T+1.

Path two

Or collect on the machine you already own

If you have a POS terminal you are happy with, keep using it. Take the payment on the machine and record it in Tab, and the order and the money still line up.

That matters more than it sounds. The common objection to a system like this is that it makes existing hardware worthless. It does not, and we would rather say so than quietly imply otherwise.

Closing the day

The close should be a reading, not a reconciliation

For most businesses the end of the night is an hour of matching a bank app against a drawer against a pile of slips, and the numbers only ever roughly agree. There is nothing to match when the sale and the payment were never separate records.

  1. The day's orders are already recorded

Every order from every channel, whether the counter, the chat, the storefront or the table, with what was sold, at what price, and what it cost you.

  2. Each payment is attached to its order

Not a list of takings beside a list of sales. One record, so there is no matching exercise to do at eleven at night.

  3. Record anything you collected yourself

A card taken on your own terminal, or cash at the counter. Record it against the order and the gap closes as you go rather than at the end.

  4. Read the total

Takings by channel and by outlet, set against what was sold. If something does not agree, you can see which order it is rather than which hour it was in.

  5. The bank agrees tomorrow

Gateway collections arrive as a single settlement by T+1 that matches the figure you closed on. One number to check, not three streams to unpick.

Whichever path you take

The second half is the same

  • Card, NGN or USD

Collected in Tab, with no machine to buy, rent or carry.

  • Bank transfer

Attached to the order automatically rather than arriving as a screenshot to check.

  • Your own POS machine

Collect on the terminal you have and record the payment, so nothing is orphaned.

  • Paid in full, or split

Most bills get paid in full. A group that wants to split can, each from their own phone.

  • T+1 to your bank

Gateway collections across every channel arrive as a single settlement the next day.

  • A close you can read

What you sold and what you collected are one record, so the end of the day is a number to read rather than an hour of matching.

  • It reaches the report

Takings by channel, by outlet and by day, set against what sold, in the message that arrives each morning.

Who is behind it

Payments sit inside the same platform as everything else

Tab is by Billif, registered as Bill Intelligent Flow Technologies. That is the answer to the question a business quite reasonably asks before handing over card settlement.

  • Get paid

Collect in Tab by card (NGN or USD), or bank transfer · Or collect on your own POS machine and record the payment in Tab · T+1 settlement to your bank · Every payment attached to the order it paid for, with nothing matched by hand · An end-of-day close you read rather than assemble

Businesses that lean on this

  • Restaurants & bars

Take the order sooner. Turn the table faster.

Guests wait to be noticed, then wait again to pay, and the order gets walked to the kitchen on paper. None of it shows up as a loss. The night was just quieter than it should have been.

  • Retail & boutiques

Sell the same stock in the shop and in the chat

The counter, the chat and the link each keep their own idea of what is left. Someone walks to the rail to check, and by then it has already sold in store.

  • Hotels & shortlets

One system from the poolside to room 402

The restaurant, the pool bar and room service each run their own process, and none of them agree at the end of the night.

The rest of the platform

None of these is a separate subscription. They are one account, one catalog and one set of numbers.
